If there is one thing that you should know about me, it’s this: I love coffee.  For me, it’s not just the drink itself, but the entire experience of going out to a coffee shop, and sipping a hot latte.  It’s a great way to get out of the house, and be around lots of people.  Whenever I’m in a new place, I love finding coffee shops that have a great ambience, and an even greater cup of coffee. 

While living in LA, I visited my fair share of coffee shops, but my favorite by far was a place called Intelligentsia.  Hidden in an alley way on Abbot Kinney Blvd., this place is definitely a gem.

Intelligentsia Coffee has been around since 1995, and originally opened up in San Fransisco, but quickly relocated to Chicago.  Today, you can find their shops scattered around major cities like Chicago, San Fransisco, Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York and Boston.

Along with a great tasting cup of coffee, this company is devoted to being as involved with their product as possible, which is why they have adopted Direct Trade practices.  Essentially, this means that the company is involved with their product every step of the way, from planting the coffee beans, to brewing the fresh coffee in the shops.

I fell in love with this place before knowing any of this, simply because of the great service and fabulous cup of coffee.  The store itself is filled with energy, and each cup of coffee is beautifully presented, and equally delicious.
