Simple Space, Simple Life
I recently relotated from New York to Los Angeles, and have been super busy over the past month runnign around and getting all moved into my new place. After moving around a lot over the past few years, and living in dorms for the most part, I was craving something that felt like home to me, so in designing my room, my goal was to create a space that was simple, organized and relaxed. As a college student, I'm definitely working within a budget, and my room is still a work in progress, but so far, I'm really happy with how it's turning out.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces...
Brooklinen Duvet Cover //
If you're going to invest in one thing (especially if you're living in a warmer climate) I'd definitely reccomend getting a nice duvet cover. I purchased this Linen Duvet Cover from brooklinen, and have been loving it. It's super light and breathable, and has a really beautiful texture.
The Malm Dresser //
I had the hardest time finding a dresser because everything way either wayyy out of my budget, or it was just plain ugly. I decided to go with the Malm Dresser from Ikea because of it's simple design. In my room, I went for mostly white and neutral tones, so I really didn't want my dresser to be something that took away from that. This dresser ended up looking great in my room, and is big enough that it takes up a good amound of space.
Agate Shadow Box //
My room is pretty big, so I really wanted to find something to hang up on the walls in order to make it look a little less bare. I’m really picky when it comes to art, because I think it’s really hard to find pieces that are affordable, but not cheesy. While at Target the other day though, I actually found some great pieces. These framed agate shadow boxes were exactly the type of thing that I was looking for. They keep with the simple theme that I was going for, but also add a subtle pop of color.
