Getting Festive
December 11, 2017 -
For me, December 1st marks the official start of the holiday season, and the beginning to all of the fun festivities that come with this exciting time of year. From blasting Christmas music in the car, to cuddling up by the fire with a cup of hot tea, or wrapping presents for loved ones, I try my best to get the most out of this time or year. While there are so many ways that I love to celebrate the holiday season, I do have some favorites that always get me in the festive spirit.
Make a Holiday Playlist
If you know me, you know that I love music, and tend to listen to it wherever I go. During the holiday season, one of my favorite things to do is create a festive playlist with some of my favorite songs, and listen to them with family and friends.
Relive Old Traditions
The holidaysare filled with traditions, and one of my favorite things to do, is celebrate the ones that mean the very most to me. From finding and decorating the perfect Christmas tree, to having my annual holiday gift exchange with friends and watching some of our favorite holiday classics, or my personal favorite: enjoying the infamous Bouche de Noelle for desert on Christmas Eve, traditions never fail to get me into the holiday spirit.
Decorate Your Living Space
This one is definitely a given, but something that I had to include. I never am fully in the holiday spirit until my living space is decked out with holiday decor. At some point during the beginning of December, me and my family always pull out the Christmas decor, put some festive music on, and get decorating.
Cook Some of Your Favorite Festive Recipes
There really is no better way to celebrate the holidays, than to cook some of your favorite recipes. From gingerbread and chocolate chip cookies, to peppermint bark and hot cocoa, the options are endless. This is the perfect time of year to indulge on some sweet treats, so get baking!
Surround Yourself With Loved Ones
While there are so many ways to celebrate this exciting time of year, nothing beats getting together with your loved ones, and enjoying each others company. Some of the best moments during this time of year, are the simple ones. I always look forward to long days on the mountain, followed by the obligatory après ski hot cocoa, or cozy hangout by the fire. These moments are simple, yet seem to be the ones that I remember the most. The holidays are all about being with the people that you love the most, and while it can be so easy to stress over making everything perfect, try to remember to enjoy the simple moments in between.
Happy Holidays!
