3 Trends I Love Now (but didn't at first)
Fashion trends come and go in waves, and I always find myself coming around and obsessing over pieces that I really didn't like at first. This year, the 90s and early 2000’s seemed to be a big theme. At the moment, it’s all about mixing the old with the new; a more modern take on retro styles. While now, I’m having so much fun playing around with different styles, cuts, colors and textures, it’s definitely taken me a minute to come around to this years trends.
With that said, here are three trends that I’m loving now… but didn’t at first.
Biker Shorts
Sporty and comfy, yet stylish and versatile. Biker shorts are one of the biggest fashion trends at the moment, and I’m all about it. I will admit, when I first started spotting people sporting biker shorts, I was not a fan… but as I’ve seen them styled in different ways, they’ve grown on me. Wear them with an oversized sweatshirt and some sneakers for a sporty yet chic daytime look thats perfect for casual wear, or with a long cut blazer for a . more professional yet trendy look.
Chunky Sneakers
Big, chunky sneakers have become a huge fashion trend in the past year, and I’m so for it. While at first I’ll admit I was hesitant to hop on this trend, I’ve recently become obsessed. Not only do you get a few extra inches of height with a good pair of chunky sneakers, but they’re also a great way to dress down any outfit and make it a little bit more casual-daytime. My go-to shoes at the moment are my Nike Air Force 1’s, and my favorite way to wear them is with a midi slip dress. For me, an outfit like this perfectly balances all of the elements that I go for when getting ready: feminine and chic, yet laid back and a little bit sporty.
Kitten Heels
Don’t underestimate the kitten heel. I used to believe that these shoes were only for older people, but that’s not the case at all. These are the perfect heels to wear during the daytime in order to take any casual outfit to the next level… and it’s a great way to add a pop of color to a monochromatic look! Pair these shoes with some relaxed jeans and a cute blouse for a simple yet chic daytime look.
