NYFW: A Rundown On The Top Trends

NYFW: A Rundown On The Top Trends

NYFW has officially come to an end, and it’s time to debrief.

Over the past week, we’ve seen top designers share their take on the hottest trends for the coming year. From trending colors, prints and styles, here’s what you need to know about what went down.

Vibrant Pastels

Marc Jacobs had a stand out show this fall. Featuring bright colors and beautiful detailing, this show celebrated “life, joy, equality, individuality, optimism, happiness, indulgence [and] dreams”. During the production, models strutted down the runway in the most exquisite pieces. Marc Jacobs never ceases to amaze me with his unique and creative take on style, and this show was no exception. It was an absolute masterpiece.

Say goodbye to the days of black and white because colors are in. Specifically, more vibrant hues of pastels are all the rage this year. This pinks, oranges, yellows, greens and blues this year — the brighter the better.

The Blazer

Another unforgettable show. Tommy Hilfiger and Zendaya collabed for the second time, and it was nothing short of incredible. This show payed homage to the 70’s and featured bold prints, beautifully structured pieces, and inclusive designs… oh, and a full choir of course! The entire production was both playful and nostalgic, and such a fun show to watch. This was by far a favorite for me.

The classic blazer played a huge part in fashion week this year. From the streets of New York, all the way to the runway, models, bloggers and celebrities alike were spotted sporting the blazer in so many fun and stylish ways.

Block Colors

Block color is basically where you wear a large amount of just a few solid colors. Think a Piet Mondrian painting, but as an outfit. Over the past weeks, I spotted so many people rocking this look, and I’m here for it.

This year it’s all about being bold, and one of the best ways to do so is with color, color… and more color. Wear a bright green, pink or blue matching set, or wear different tones of the same color. A block color outfit instantly looks more stylish and put together, and is such a fun way to make a statement.

This trend also works (and looks super chic) with more muted neutrals. Pair whites with creams, or more natural looking greens and browns for a more casual, day-to-day street style look.

Which trends did you love this year?

Let me know in the comments!
