Black Lives Matter.
June 3, 2020
To be completely transparent, over the past week I’ve been at a loss of words. The events that have unfolded over the last days let alone weeks have impacted me deeply and made me so aware of my own privilege. Over these past few months (mainly due to the lack of inspiration that I’ve been feeling during the quarantine) I haven’t been very present on this blog or on social media. But, it’s come to a point where I feel that my silence speaks louder than anything, so I wanted to come on here and share some of the resources that I’ve found helpful and informative over the past week.
Regardless of how or where you grew up, now is the time to educate; to learn and unlearn, and to shift the narrative. I’ve come to understand that with comfort and stability comes ignorance. This issue is so beyond me, and it’s so important to listen to the voices that need to be heard. I understand that as a white female, my voice is not the one that needs to be heard right now, but I do want to share with you readers some of the resources that I’ve found helpful. I encourage you all to read up and educate yourselves on this deeply rooted issue. Donate if you can, and use your voices and your platforms in order to spread information.
And to those in the BIPOC community please know that I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you.
