24 Hours In San Fransisco
April 20, 2017 -
San Fransisco is a beautiful city that is known for its rolling hills and thick fog, unique art scene and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. The other day, I had the chance to sneak into the city after visiting with friends and family in the Bay Area, and though I would share my experience with you.
~ 11:00 am ~
Started off the day late, but right nonetheless. Stopped by Il Café, located right in Union Square for a quick cup of coffee.
Lunch at Native Co. If you’re looking for a quick grab-and-go place, or somewhere that you can sit down, try Native Co. Located on Sutter and Kearny, this place has healthy options ranging from salads and sandwiches, to smoothies and juices. If you stop by, I recommend trying the Asian Chicken Salad, and the turmeric lemonade.
~ 2:00 pm ~
Retail Therapy. You can find cute shops scattered around San Fransisco, but if you’re looking for some of the more well known places, definitely head to Union Square. I had a few minutes to spare, so I decided to head over to Neiman’s and look around. If you haven’t already stopped by this particular location, you definitely should; it really is something to see. In addition to fabulous clothing, this store is beautifully designed. If you’re looking for an extra treat, be sure to stop by The Rotunda, located on the top floor of Neiman’s. It is a wonderful restaurant that is sure to impress, but be sure to schedule in advance, because it can be tricky to get a reservation!
~ 3:30 pm ~
SF MoMA. I’m a huge fan of modern and contemporary art, and decided to stop by SF MoMA to see what was new. At the moment, there is a wonderful exhibit featuring Matisse and Diebenkorn that I really enjoyed. It was really cool to see the two artists’ works side by side, and see how they influenced each other and how their work evolved over time.
~ 5:15 pm ~
Early dinner. Jardinière is a wonderful Californian-French restaurant located on Grove street. Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted with wonderful service, and a upbeat yet elegant ambience. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food did not fail to impress. I was completely taken away by the different flavors in each dish, and everything seemed to compliment each other beautifully.
~ 7:30 pm ~
SF Ballet. To end the night, I headed to The Opera House, which happened to be just across the street from Jardinière, to see the Ballet. I was completely in awe the entire time, and loved how the company included both classic and modern techniques. I was impressed by the amount of strength and grace that the dancers displayed on stage, and loved every minute of the show.
~ 11:00 am (Next Day) ~
Headed to SFO to head off to my next location. Check back on Sunday to see where I ended up!
