A Year Ago Today
September 2, 2017 -
Exacly one year ago on September 2, 2016, I posted on this blog for the very first time. I had no expectiations as to what this space on the internet would be for me, and wasn’t even sure that I would have the motivation and discipline to post frequently. Essentially, I went into this completely blind, knowing only that I wanted some way to document the years to come. I had no idea the impact that this blog would have on me, and how it would inspire me to become a better, brighter person.
For me, this space has become a creative outlet. A place in which I can speak freely, and share my interests and passions with whoever my stumble upon this blog. Furthermore, I’ve had the chance to document a huge year in my life, and capture some of the pivitol moments that have shaped me into the person I am right now. While this blog remained a positive space, it did follow me through my highs and lows throughout the year, and through writing about it all, I was able to gain a sense of persepctive.
A year ago, I wrote about how it’s important to use your past experiences as tools to help you move forward in your own life, and although I had no idea what was in store for me, this simple idea could not have been more relevant. My year has been unconventional to say that least, and I was presented with obstacles that at times felt impossible to overcome. Through writing about these setbacks, however, and trying to remain positive, I was forced to look at them through a different lense, and think about what I could learn and how I could move forward. I’ve grown into a stronger, more confident and driven person, and have learned a lot about myself over the course of this year.
While I’m still unsure of what exactly I want this blog to be, if there is one thing that I know, it’s that I will continue to write for the years to come. This site has evolved into something so much bigger than I ever could have imagined, and has become such an important thing in my life.
I look forward to writing much more, and expanding my content over this next year!
