Escaping the City for the Weekend
October 16, 2017 -
Over the weekend, I headed to Great Barrington, Massachusetts to visit my brother at his school for family weekend. As much as I love the city, getting out of it was just what I needed, and it was so nice to breath some fresh air and get a little bit of peace and quiet.
Craving some outdoor time, on Saturday my brother, sister and I decided to go on a little hike. What we originally thought was going to be a mellow 10-15 minute walk, ended up being about 30 minutes of bouldering, but once we got to the top, it was all worth it. The view was absolutely incredible, and it was so nice to unplug for a few minutes.
Sunday was a little bit more rushed, as we had to get back into the city, but before we left, we headed over to Windy Farms to go apple picking. We had promised my youngest sister that we would take her, and we ended up having so much fun. From running around and picking apples, to tasting the infamous spiced cider doughnuts, this ended up being such a fun experience that we got to share, and the perfect way to end our weekend getaway.
Although super quick, this trip was definitely worth it and I already can’t wait to visit again!
