Little Moments of Joy
November 13, 2016 -
I think it’s pretty safe to say that it’s been a rough week for most of us out there. Regardless of our own personal opinions, the overwhelmingly low energy, and hateful breakouts all around have affected most of us in one way or another. In times like this, I find it so important to work extra hard, and to find even just a little spark of joy to brighten your day, or someone else’s. Here are a few simple things I like to do when my spirits are low.
– Dance –
I am by no means an excellent dancer, but I will say, it is the perfect way to instantly put you in a better mood. Turn on a song that makes you happy, and dance your heart out for just a few minutes. I promise, you’ll feel much more energized and excited afterwards.
– Laugh –
Laughing really is the best form of therapy, and whenever I’m feeling down, I love to surround myself with friends, and find something to laugh or smile about. When laughing, it is so easy to forget about things that are bringing you down, and is the perfect instant relief to just about anything.
– Random Acts of Kindness –
This is a really important one for me, and is something that we definitely need a little bit more of in our world today. Whether that be giving up your seat to someone, doing something nice for a loved one, or even just making an effort to hold the door for a stranger, these little things are often unexpected, but have the power to make a persons day, bringing just a little bit of joy to everyone.
While none of these things will solve any major world issues, or change what’s going on in a person’s life, they provide little moments of joy throughout the day, and sometimes, that’s all we really need. We thrive on these little pick ups that lift our spirits just the tiniest bit, and they really do have the power to bring light, even on the darkest of days.
In light of recent events, all I have to say, is be kind to one and other. Spread love, be happy, and try your very best to incorporate these little moments of joy into your own life.
