Routine Is Key

So here’s the thing: change isn’t easy.  It can be scary, stressful, and emotionally draining to pick up, and move your entire life.  You are forced to reestablish yourself in a completely new environment, where you know no one, and are unfamiliar with the area surrounding you.  While exciting, it’s also so important to remember that those times in which you are feeling sad, overwhelmed, or stressed, are completely normal.  So, what can you do when you are feeling this way to better the situation?

I am the first to say that when I’m feeling down, all I want to do is curl up my bed and dwell over the seemingly omnipresent misery that I am feeling in the moment, however, this is NOT the healthy way to go about it.  Rather, think about the things that make you feel the best, and try to find a way to fit them into your schedule.  Personally, I feel at my best when I’m in shape, so carving even just an hour out of my day to get outside, go on a quick run, hike, or stop by the gym makes the world of a difference.  By just doing one thing that you love every single day, your mood can change drastically, and so can your outlook on the situation as a whole.

However busy you may be, remember that your happiness ALWAYS comes first.  Your state of mind directly correlates with the quality of work you produce, so think of something you love to do, and take the time to do that each and every day.
