Loving LA
September 11, 2016 -
These past few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind for me. I’ve met more people than I can even remember, and have worked harder than ever before. While I’ve been extremely busy, I have managed to slip off campus a few times, and explore the surrounding areas.
As expected, LA is completely different from the small town that I come from. The amount of culture and diversity is absolutely astounding to me, and is something that will never get old. I’ve had some of the most interesting conversations with some of the most random people, and have loved hearing about all of their different stories, and views on life. In addition to meeting new people, I’ve also enjoyed walking around and seeing what this area has to offer. So far, here are a few highlights:
1. Street Music in Santa Monica // The other night, I was running a few errands in Santa Monica, and decided to walk down 3rd street promenade for a bit. Just as I was leaving, a musician started to play one of my all-time favorite songs, so I got a cup of tea, sat down, and listened to the music for a while.
2. Walking Around Abbot Kinney // Abbot Kinney is definitely one of the cooler places I’ve been so far. There are some really great restaurants, and cute shops, so the other night a few friends and I headed over there to do some shopping and grab dinner. It was so much fun to walk around for a bit, and I already can’t wait to go back.
3. Lazy Day in Malibu // Yesterday, a few friends and I decided to drive up to Malibu, and have a beach day. It was a perfect start to the weekend, and was exactly what I needed after a long week of classes.
There is so much to do here, and I’m more than excited to dive into this next chapter, immerse myself in a new lifestyle, and let it change and sculpt me into a better, more rounded person. I’m so excited to see where this next step in life takes me, and to have all of you readers here with me, riding along side.
