Winter Wardrobe Essentials

Despite the lack of flora and fauna, and the sub-zero temperatures, winter actually happens to be my favorite time of year. I’m absolutely in love with all of the new styles and trends that come with this time of year. The options are endless!
In general, I tend to have a pretty basic, and minimalistic style, however, this winter, I’ve really tried to edge up my wardrobe, and wear outfits that make me feel confident and stylish every day. Over the course of the past few months, I’ve tried my best to steer clear of basic pieces that I tend to gravitate towards, and have tried to invest in some more statement pieces that will spice up my wardrobe. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that are sure to make any outfit come together effortlessly.
~ Sweater Coat ~
This is BY FAR one of my favorite pieces this season. I bought this coat just a few weeks ago, and have honestly been wearing it nonstop. It is the perfect piece to throw over just about anything, and will make any outfit look so much more stylish and chic.
~ Leather Jacket ~
This leather jacket is definitely a favorite of mine. I may be a little late to hop onto this trend, but luckily, the leather jacket doesn’t seem to be going out of style anytime soon. Leather jackets can go with just about anything, and are the perfect way to edge up an outfit. Here are a few favorites:

~ Suede Jacket ~
Just like leather jackets, suede jackets have definitely made their comeback. I am absolutely obsessed with my army green suede jacket, and if you ever see me, chances are I’m wearing it. I love this jacket because it can really be dressed up or down, and goes with just about everything.
~ Black Boots ~
Black boots are and will always be a favorite. Living in any cold climate, I definitely find it necessary to have a pair of boots that are both stylish and practical. I’ve sworn by the same pair of aquatalias for the past two years (unfortunately the specific model has been discontinued, so I’ll link some similar ones here!), and recently received a pair of the Frye boots that I equally adore.
~ Subtle Statement Top ~
This has probably been the hardest piece for me to shop for, but definitely one of my favorites. I am the queen basic sweaters, so this year, I decided that enough was enough, and I practically forbid myself from purchasing the same old simple tops! While looking for something that was both a statement, and practical for everyday wear, I fell in love with this top from Zadig & Voltaire. From the front, it looks clean and simple, however, edgy back really makes all the difference to me.
~The Perfect Bag ~
I always feel with it when I’m carrying a stylish bag, and definitely have some favorite when it comes to the bag department. When I am traveling or working, and have to fit more in my bag, I always resort to my longchamp. It’s both stylish and practical, and is the perfect bag for on the go. If ever I’m going out, or simply don’t need to bring as much with me on the given day, I’ll go for a smaller bag. The black bag shown in the feature image was given to me as a gift, and I’m not sure where to find it, so I’ll link another favorite black bag here. This bag is also a favorite of mine. I picked it up a few months ago, and have already gotten so much use out of it.
~ Stylish Sunnies ~
Sunglasses are one of my favorite ways to add dimension to a look. You can be as outgoing as you want when it comes to them, and I always have so much fun when it comes to finding the perfect pair of shades. While on a day-to-day basis, I tend to stick to my Ray Bans, when I’m looking to spice things up, I’ll grab my fun mirrored Quays.
