Fall Essentials: A Lazy Girl’s Guide

Fall Essentials: A Lazy Girl’s Guide

Ok moment of truth.

In LA, fall really doesn’t exist. But that doesn’t mean we can’t pretent that it does. While I definitely prefer warmer weather, there’s something comforting about getting all cozy on a cool fall day, curling up on the couch with a book and lighting a candle.

So for all of you fall-lovers, this is the post for you. I’ve put together a list of all of the essentials for the perfect cozy fall day.

Scents

If you aren’t adorning your house with candles this fall you’re doing it wrong, and if you’re still going to bath and body works and stocking up on mahogany teakwood, sorry but you’re also doing it wrong. Spare yourself the artificial-fragrance-induced migraine and pick up a few nice candles. If you’re really sensitive to scents, skip the candles altogether and go for a diffuser with some essential oils. Not only are the scents more gentle, but essential oils also have amazing health benefits and are a good thing to have throughout your house regardless.

Diptique

My all-time favorite scent is Baies by Diptique. Infused with blackcurrant and rose, this scent is fresh and fruity, yet warm and cozy. This candle retails at $65, but it is well worth the price. You really only need to burn it for a few minutes at a time, so the candle itself lasts months.

Bristol Farms also carries an amazing dupe to this scent. It smells almost identical, but is a fraction of the price.

Books

There’s honestly nothing better than curling up with a good book, and tuning out all outside noise for a few hours. As someone who works in social media, getting offline is so refreshing. When I come home after a day of work, I don’t even want to look at my computer or phone for at least a few hours. Recently, I’ve picked up reading again, and have so enjoyed it. Here are a few books that I’m loving, or that I can’t wait to start.

Drinks

A warm drink is a must. I’m obsessed with delicious drinks, but I don’t love the way that tons of added sugar makes me feel, so I’m always on the hunt for healthier options. Here are a few of my favorites…

Get Cozy

Last but not least, no lazy day is complete without a cozy blanket and some loungewear. Throw on some sweats, wrap yourself up in your favorite comfy blanket, and enjoy some downtime.

Aritzia

Artizia absolutely kills it in the loungewear department. Some of the peices can get a little bit expensive, but you really are paying for what you get. I'd honestly rather have one or two quality pieces that are soft and comfortable, than 20 sweatshirts that aren’t.

Happy fall.

xx,

seb.
