5 Simple Things That Will Make You Feel Like You Have Your Sh*t Together

5 Simple Things That Will Make You Feel Like You Have Your Sh*t Together

Real talk-

In the age of social media, it’s pretty easy to scroll through your feed and feel like everyone has their lives together except for you. But truth is, we all struggle to stay afloat sometimes. You may feel like there’s not enough time in the day, or like you have too much time on your hands. Either way, all of us have those moments where we just feel like we just don’t have our shit together.

Whether you’re having an off day, week, or even month, here are 5 simple tips to help make you feel just a little bit more on top of it

Create A Morning Routine

It’s way too easy to be lazy… especially on days where you don’t have much going on. But following just a few simple steps each morning can really help you start off the day right. Regardless of what I have planned for the day, I try to wake up at a reasonable hour and follow a morning routine. I like to wake up and tidy up my living space, and then take an hour or so to follow a routine and get my day started.

Get A Fresh Manicure

This may seem a bit extra, and some of you may be rolling your eyes… but bear with me. Something as simple as a fresh manicure can really make you feel more put together. Go to a salon, or paint your nails yourself — it really doesn’t matter. It’s really about the process of doing something for yourself. I find that even when I’m running errands in leggings or sweats if I have a fresh mani, I just feel a little bit more put together.

Get Ready Every Day

On that note, it’s so important to get ready every single day. Even on the days where you’re only running errands. This doesn’t mean you need a full face of makeup or a perfectly curated outfit. But do take a few minutes to wash your face, and put on a fresh outfit. Don’t leave the house in last nights’ sweats — just swap them out for a fresh pair leggings & a sweatshirt, pull your hair back into a sleek pony or bun, and throw on some sunnies… that’s it. Regardless of what you have planned, getting up and getting ready will get you out of that lazy, lethargic slump that we can so easily fall into.

Eat Three Meals

I’ll admit that this isn’t something that I’ve completely mastered, but I’m definitely working on it. When we have too much time on our hands, it’s way too easy to just snack throughout the day… and when we have a full day sometimes we forget to eat at all. Take time to plan out some healthy meals, so that you’re not left scrambling last minute. If you know you have a busy day ahead of you, give yourself enough time to make breakfast before you leave for the day, and maybe even prep a healthy lunch. Browse Pinterest and Instagram for new recipes get you excited to cook, and keep healthy snacks on hand for when you’re in a pinch.

Create a Do-able To Do List

Lastly, add things to your to do list that you know without a doubt you will be able to check off. Little tasks such as “wake up at 7am”, “eat a healthy breakfast”, or “go on a walk” are things that I know I can and will do on a given day, so I’ll add them to my agenda. Checking off items from your to do list is so satisfying, and will make you feel much more productive.
