My Morning Routine

My Morning Routine

Lately, I’ve been really into sticking to a morning routine. Life can get pretty hectic, and often times it’s hard to predict what a given day will look like. I’ve found it to be so grounding to have a routine that I follow every morning. This allows me to start off my day intentionally and set the tone for the rest of the day.

So, let’s cut to the chase...

Here’s what my morning looks like:

Wake Up & Write

I usually wake up between 7:00-9:00 am (depending on what I have going on that day). As soon as I’m up, I immediately grab my five-minute journal and fill it out. I love the five-minute journal because it’s super quick, but it gets me in the right headspace right away — it reminds me to start each day with a reflection, an intention, and an affirmation.

celery juice

As soon as I’m done journaling, I brush my teeth and then head straight to the kitchen and pour myself a glass of pure celery juice.

Celery juice is effective in relieving so many different symptoms because of its sodium cluster salts. Essentially, these cluster salts promote a strong digestive system by fighting off unwanted pathogens and bacteria, as well as helping the liver’s bile production and restoring our hydrochloric acid over time. These cluster salts bind onto free floating poisons and toxins that are living inside of the liver, and flush them out into the bloodstream, remaining bonded so that they leave the kidneys or intestinal tract safely. Additionally, celery juice is extremely high in vitamins C and K, which are known to reduce inflammation and boost cardiovascular health.

For optimal results, I drink 1 tall glass of pure celery juice (no added flavors) 15-30 minutes before eating anything else.

Skincare & Makeup

Next, I head to my bathroom and get started with my skincare routine. To start, I take an ice cube and run it over my face to get the circulation going & reduce inflammation. Next, if I have time, I’ll grab my rose quartz gua sha tool and do a facial massage for lymphatic drainage (click here to read all about the benefits of gua sha and how to do it). Finally, I’ll apply my daytime serums, moisturizer and SPF (full morning skincare routine coming soon).

If I have a workout planned, I’ll skip makeup. But if I have work, I have a super quick routine. Here are some of my go-to products at the moment:

Healthy Breakfast

It’s so important to start the day with a healthy meal. I find that when I start my day off right, I’m much more inclined to continue on with those healthy habits throughout the day. I’m pretty basic when it somes to breakfasts, and will typically make one of two meals:

FWC Protein Powder // Canyon Bakehouse Bread // My Fav Almond Milk // My Fav Peanut Butter

Get Outside & Walk

By now, it’s anywhere between 7:30-9:30 am (again, it just depends on what I have going on that day). As soon as I’m done with breakfast, I head out for a walk. I try to carve out 40 minutes to an hour each morning to be outside, get some steps in, and to listen to a podcast. Aside from whatever podcast I’m listening to, I try to stay completely unplugged and not look at my phone at all. If I have time, I’ll walk to my favorite coffee shop — Alfred’s has the best iced almond milk latte — or I’ll make my own. This portion of my day is so crucial. Especially on the days that I have work, and am behind a desk for 8 hours, getting some fresh air and steps in makes the world of a difference.

At this point, I’m ready to start my day. I’ll either head straight to work from here, or do some form of exercise. Like I mentioned earlier, life can get pretty hectic at times, and we don’t always have much say in what happens throughout the day. While this routine may seem really intense, I’ve found that it’s really grounding to start off every day the same way. This has helped me feel like I have so much more control over my life, and maintain a clear headspace.

How do you like to start your day? Let me know!

xx,

seb.
