I’m Samantha
Welcome to my blog - I’m so glad you found me! I write about fashion, beauty, travel and health. As always, thanks so much for the support, xx.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you’re probably privy to the fact that I am a huge fan of music. It has always inspired and moved me in so many ways, and my passion for this specific art form is one of my defining factors.
Today was a rainy day, and rather than letting the day slip away, I decided to head up to the kitchen and get cooking. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a major sweet tooth, which especially kicks in when I’m lounging around with not much to do. As such, I decided to go for a treat that is extremely nutricious, but still manages to satisfy my sweet craving.
If there is one thing that you should know about me, it’s this: I love coffee. For me, it’s not just the drink itself, but the entire experience of going out to a coffee shop, and sipping a hot latte. It’s a great way to get out of the house, and be around lots of people. Whenever I’m in a new place, I love finding coffee shops that have a great ambience, and an even greater cup of coffee.
The other day, I ran into the dreaded issue that many of us know all too well; my computer ran out of space. So like any mac user who has owned her computer since the prehistoric ages, I went through all of my old photos and videos, and hit “delete.” Upon doing so, however, I stumbled upon a video that I had almost forgotten about and couldn’t bring myself to get rid of.
Just under a year ago, The Museum of Modern Art in San Fransisco reopened after being closed for almost three years. With a new space, and a contemporary layout, this new museumn features amazing artists such as Andy Warhol, Chuck Close and Roy Lichtenstein.
With spring break just around the corner, traveling has been on my mind lately, and while I will be staying home this spring break, it hasn’t stopped me from dreaming of all of the destinations that I someday hope to visit.
If you know anything about Los Angeles, you are probably privy to the fact that in addition to it’s well dressed people, creative thinkers, and sunny climate, this place is famous for their healthy dining options. From salads to juices and even comfort food, you can find it all here in Los Angeles if you know where to look.
Choosing to take this semester off from school was a huge decision to make, and while ultimately, I think I made the right choice, there have been difficult aspects to it. For the first time in my life, I no longer define myself as a student, and have had to reestablish myself in my own community, apart from my close friends. Stripped completely of who I once was, I have been left with a chance to redefine myself, and choose who I want to be.
Love. It’s a universal concept defined by the deep, intense attraction that one person feels for another. It is the instant connection between a child and it’s parents, the bond between two perfectly matched people, or the simple feeling of concern that one might have for another. It is an abstract concept that is so hard to grasp, yet something that comes so naturally to every single person. And somehow, in our world today, it seems to be getting lost amongst a surplus of fear, hatred, and greed.
February has officially arrived, and it’s time to kiss the January blues goodbye. While January isn’t my favorite month of the year, it definitely wasn’t that bad, and I did have the opportunity to try out some new products, many of which I’ve come to love. Here are a few of my favorites from the month.
Despite the lack of flora and fauna, and the sub-zero temperatures, winter actually happens to be my favorite time of year. I’m absolutely in love with all of the new styles and trends that come with this time of year. The options are endless!
January is one of the coldest months of the year, and I always find that the brutal weather takes its toll on my skin. As such, I decided to whip up a batch of my favorite nourishing body butter. Not only is it extremely hydrating, but it also includes ingredients that are meant to improve the complextion, leaving your skin smooth and polished.
2016 was a crazy year. Looking back to where I was in my life at this time next year, and seeing just how much has changed in such a short amount of time still blows my mind. Last year at this time, I was just starting my last trimester of school, running on no sleep and zero motivation, experiencing the full effects of senioritis, frantically shuffling through all of my contacts and resources in order to come up with a senior project, and college was an enigma. My goal last year? To make it to this year.
I started this blog almost six months ago to document a new chapter in my life, and to share all of the experiences and lessons that come along with change. While I have shared a lot on this blog, one thing that I haven’t been quite as open about is my health.
2016 was such a memorable year, with so many amazing changes and new experiences. I have never gone through so many changes in such a short amount of time, but I feel grateful for every new experience that I had. I cherished my last few months at home, and then had the amazing opportunity to move to a new city, and start fresh. Here were just a few of my favorite moments from 2016
During the holiday season, one of my favorite things to do, is to bake. Not only is it a fun pastime, but it’s also so nice to sit down and indulge on a treat with friends and family. While I would be more than happy to make just about anything, one of my favorites is my homemade gingerbread.
Nothing screams Christmas time like a fresh layer of snow, and a day of fun on the ski mountain. Growing up just minutes from a ski mountain, this was always something that I took for granted, and being away from it all for the first time ever, I realize just how lucky I was to have such fun activities right out my back door.
For me, December 1st marks the official start of the holiday season, and the beginning to all of the fun festivities that come with this exciting time of year. From blasting Christmas music in the car, to cuddling up by the fire with a cup of hot tea, or wrapping presents for loved ones, I try my best to get the most out of this time or year. While there are so many ways that I love to celebrate the holiday season, I do have some favorites that always get me in the festive spirit.
With Christmas Day just around the corner, many of have just come to the frantic state in which we start to panic at the thought of figuring out what to get all of our family and friends for Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of going Christmas shopping, and finding the absolutely perfect gifts for my loved ones, but these days, that isn’t very realistic.
One of my favorite things to do at the end of a long day, is to take all of my makeup off, and have a mini spa session. While there are lot’s of amazing face products that you can buy, recently, I’ve enjoyed making some of my own.
