Escaping the City for the Weekend

Over the weekend, I headed to Great Barrington, Massachusetts to visit my brother at his school for family weekend.  As much as I love the city, getting out of it was just what I needed, and it was so nice to breath some fresh air and  get a little bit of peace and quiet.

My Happy Place

I think everyone can relate in some way or another to the fact that we all have a happy place.  Somewhere that we can go anytime, no matter how we’re feeling, and instantly be calm.  Personally, I am most at peace when I am outside.  I love the feeling of the sun hitting my skin, breathing in fresh air and listening to the sound of silence fill the space.  For me, these moments in which I can completely unplug are what keep me going.

Glossier Showroom

The other day, I had the chance to head to the Glossier showroom to checkout what they had.  I’ve been dying to get my hands on some of these products, but resisted ordering online, knowing that I could try everything out in person here.

I Ditched The Meal Plan | My Thoughts

One of my biggest struggles last year at school, was having to be on a meal plan.  I’ve grown up in a healthy household, and have always been super conscious about what I eat, so having to rely completely on a college meal plan was pretty difficult for me.  Now I’m aware of the fact that being on some sort of meal plan is all part of the college experience, and I’ll link a post that I wrote about a year ago about staying healthy while on the meal plan here, but in this post, I’m going be be talking about my experience of not being on a meal plan.

Personalize Your Space

For those of you that know me personally, you are probably well aware of the fact that I am pretty meticulous when it comes to my space.  From the way in which my bed and side tables look, to what is hanging on the walls, my room is a reflection of myself, and has always served as my calm and quiet space.  So, naturally, this was one of my biggest concerns when going off to college; the fact that I would no longer get to return to my room – the room that I spent years perfecting, after a long day.

A Year Ago Today

Exacly one year ago on September 2, 2016, I posted on this blog for the very first time.  I had no expectiations as to what this space on the internet would be for me, and wasn’t even sure that I would have the motivation and discipline to post frequently.  Essentially, I went into this completely blind, knowing only that I wanted some way to document the years to come.  I had no idea the impact that this blog would have on me, and how it would inspire me to become a better, brighter person.

A Weekend In The Hamptons

Last week, I headed to New York to move into my dorm for the year.  Much to my suprise, this move in process took less time than I expected, and I was left with a few free days before class started.  As such, I decided to head to the Hamptons for the weekend to enjoy the last moments of my summer vacation.

An Incredible Experience

Just over a week ago, on one of my last evenings at home, my family and I decided to try something that we had never done.  We wanted to spend our last moments together in the incredible valley that we grew up in doing something completely unconventional and out of the box for us.  After brainstorming a bit, and bouncing ideas back and forth, we agreed upon an activity.  On Saturday evening, we met up with the Fly Sun Valley team, and drove up the ski mountain for our first ever paragliding experience.

Unfiltered By Lily Collins | Book Review

I recently finished reading the book Unfiltered, by Lily Collins and could not wait to write about it.  I usually wouldn’t go for an autobiography, because in the past, I’ve found them hard to get through, however, after hearing about this book through the grape vine, I decided to give it a go.

Start Your Day Fresh

I am a strong believer in the fact that when it comes to beauty, less is more.  It’s all about highlighting the features you do have, the ones that make you unique, rather than trying to cover up flaws or create something entirely different.  Makeup should not be used as a mask, but as a tool to help you enhance the features that you love the most.

What My Time Off Has Taught Me

If I were to ask myself back in January what I thought I would learn on my leave of absence, I probably would have reluctantly hoped that it would have to do with my health and well being.  Hopefully I would have pinpointed exactly what was wrong with me, and I would acquire the necessary skills to fix it.

Summer Essentials

In my opinion, summer can be the trickiest season to dress for.  It’s all about finding that perfect balance between style and comfort, and wearing pieces that won’t absolutely suffocate you in the boiling heat.

A Picnic Kind of Night

Yesterday it was absolutely beautiful out, so I thought what better way to spend the evening than to pack some food, and enjoy a picnic with my sister.  We had such a fun time making meals, taking in the stunning views and enjoying eachothers company.  Here are the things that you will need in order to enjoy a lovely picnic.

Chance By Chanel

Recently, while on a little shopping spree, I happened to pick up Chanel’s Eau Tendre perfume, and I must say, it’s my new obsession.  I’m usually not the one to go crazy over a perfume as I am actually quite sensitive to smell, however, this fragrance is perfection.

Sunday Brunch

One of my most prominent childhood memories is getting up on Sunday mornings, and heading to brunch.  For me and my family, this was a time in which we could sit down together and chat about whatever we wanted.   Our conversations tended to range from silly jokes and riddles, to more serious matters as they came up.  As I’ve gotten older, and my family has started to spread out across the states, these brunches have become less and less frequent, however, the ritual still remains close to my heart.

A Mother's Day Gift Guide

The affection that a mother has for her child is one of the most innate relationships that there is.  From the moment that we are born, our mothers love and appreciate us for all that we are.   As a child, we are celebrated by our mothers each and every day, and while I believe that we should celebrate our mother just as much, there is one day in which we are able to truly show our appreciation for all that our mothers do.

What I Wish I Knew One Year Ago

Almost one year ago to the day, I was in New York City researching contemporary art as part of my senior project.  While the project itself was exciting, this was actually a very emotional time for me, as everything I knew and loved was coming to an end.  I was getting ready to graduate, leave my friends and my home, and move to a new city.  Essentially, all of this was why I started my blog, and while you readers had the opportunity to see glimpses of what was new and fun, what you didn’t really see was the sadness and fear that also comes with change.

24 Hours In San Fransisco

San Fransisco is a beautiful city that is known for its rolling hills and thick fog, unique art scene and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge.  The other day, I had the chance to sneak into the city after visiting with friends and family in the Bay Area, and though I would share my experience with you.
